Mr. Jude Patrick McCarthy, 56, of the Miners Mills section of Wilkes-Barre, passed into Eternal Life Wednesday afternoon in the care of Celtic Healthcare Hospice inpatient unit at Gesinger South Wilkes-Barre following an illness.

     Born February 18, 1961 in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son to the late Edward Joseph and Patricia Ann (Vitkoski) McCarthy. 

     Educated in the city schools, he was a graduate of the James M. Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre, and also attended the Wilkes-Barre Vocational Technical school towards his vocational skills.

     Previously, Jude was employed as a welder in Connecticut prior to his relocation to the Wyoming Valley.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Mr. Edward E. McCarthy and a sister, Miss Doreen T. McCarthy.

     Left to mourn his passing are his only surviving sister, Mrs. Kathleen A. Tyahur and her husband Charles of North Wilkes-Barre; a nephew, Mr. Michael Tyahur also of North Wilkes-Barre; Several aunts, cousins and friends.

     Funeral services for Mr. McCarthy will be private and at the convenience of his family from the North Wilkes-Barre location of the John V. Morris Family Funeral Homes Inc., 625 North Main Street.

     There will be no public calling hours.
