Herbert Lee Obituary

     Mr. Herbert M. “Mike” Lee, 74, a resident of the North End section of Wilkes-Barre, passed into Eternal Life unexpectedly early Friday morning in the comfort of his residence following a recent illness.

     Born September 12, 1944 in Santa Ana, Orange County, California, he was a son to the late Herbert R. and Mary Rose (Malia) Lee.

     Following the family’s relocation to the east coast, Mike was educated in the Long Island, New York schools, and furthered his education by attending the Suffolk Community College in Long Island.

     Mr. Lee proudly served our country with the United States Navy during the Vietnam Conflict on December 5, 1961. He was later Honorably Discharge from military duties on September 10, 1965.

     Until his retirement, he was self-employed as the owner and operator of Lee Swimming Pools of Long Island, New York, caring for several notable celebrities during his tenure.

     He and his wife, the former Doris L. Ferrelli celebrated forty years of married life together on October 4, of 2018.

     In his spare time, Mike held membership in the North End Slovak Citizens Club, the Triangle Club of Miners Mills.  He also enjoyed spending time and playing billiards at the Leisure Tavern in North Wilkes-Barre.

     He was preceded in death by two brothers, Anthony and Kelly Lee.

     Left to celebrate his life and cherish his memory in addition to his beloved wife Doris at home are the couple’s children, Michael Lee and his wife Donna; Todd Lee and his wife Diana; Keith Lee, all of Long Island, New York; David Ferrelli and his wife Liz of Maine; Scott Lee and his companion Jocelyn Ward of Pittston; Tamra Robinson and her husband Dennis of Long Island, N.Y.; Michelle Valentine and her husband Dino, at home and Dawn Brandt and her husband John III of Ashley;  Twenty-two Grandchildren; Three Great-Grandchildren; Brother, Frederick Lee and his wife Pam of Plains Township; Sister, Lorna Ewing and her husband Gary of Lansing, Michigan; Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

     Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of Mike’s family.  The North Wilkes-Barre location of the John V. Morris Family Funeral Homes Inc. is honored to care for our neighbor Mr. Lee and his family at this time.
