Mrs. Marion Tribendis, 90, a life resident of Pittston, entered into Eternal Life Monday evening, September 25, 2017 in the care of Celtic Healthcare Hospice, Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre following a brief illness.

Born on October 2, 1926, she would have celebrated her 91st birthday next week.  She was the only daughter of five children to the late Alex and Anna (Rosarage) Buchinsky.  Educated in the Pittston schools, she was a graduate of the former Pittston High School.

On June 18, 1949, she married the late Ralph Tribendis, formerly of Plymouth.  At the time of his passing in 2005, the couple shared fifty-five years of married life together.

Remembered as being a loving, nurturing wife and mother, Marion spent most of her life sharing her time and energy with her family, friends and church.  A wonderful cook and baker, she gave special attention to her homemaking skills through the years.  A devout Catholic, Marion believed in the power of faith, praying the Rosary daily her entire life.  She would get such enjoyment from the laughter of her great-grandchildren.  She was truly young at heart, filled with wisdom and kindness.

In addition to her beloved husband Ralph, she was preceded in death by brothers John, Francis, Charles and Joseph Buchinsky.

Left to mourn her passing are her three sons and their families including Ralph Tribendis and his wife Ginny of Richmond, VA; Ron Tribendis and his wife Ann of Hanover Township; Ray Tribendis and his wife Sandy of Charlottesville, VA;  Grandchildren, Dr. Ron Tribendis and wife Amy of Frisco, TX; Kathryn Chase and her husband Mark of Mechanicsville, VA; Amy Zehner and her husband Chad of Lanoka Harbor, NJ; Mark Tribendis and his wife Brittany of Wilmington, NC and Natalie Tribendis of Philadelphia. Great-grandchildren, Eli and Isaac Tribendis, Hadley Chase, Abby and Emily Zehner,  Trice and Chase Tribendis;  Numerous nieces nephews, cousins, fellow parishioners and dear friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Tribendis will be conducted on Friday with a memorial funeral mass at 9:30 a.m. in Saint John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 35 William Street, Pittston.  The Reverend Father Joseph P. Elston, pastor, will serve as celebrant and homilist.

Interment will follow in Saint Casimir's Roman Catholic Cemetery, 320-322 Tedrick Street, Pittston.

Relatives and friends may join the family for visitation and remembrances directly at church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services.

In lieu of floral tributes, Marion's family would be honored if friends can take a moment and remember them in  your prayers.

The John V. Morris Family Funeral Homes Inc. of Wilkes-Barre are honored to care for Mrs. Tribendis and her family at this time.
