Mr. Andrew J. Chopko, 74, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Sunday, May 30, 2021 at Riverstreet Manor, Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Andrew and Mary Petro Chopko. He was educated in the city schools and was a graduate of the James M. Coughlin High School, Class of 1964.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed at TOPPS Chewing Gum for many years.
He was a member of the Parish of Saint Andre Bessette, Wilkes-Barre, having been a life member of the former Holy Saviour Church, East End section of Wilkes-Barre, prior to its closure.
Andrew was an avid fan of NASCAR and football in his spare time.
Preceding him in death was a sister, Mary Ann Chopko.
Surviving are sisters, Mrs. Rosemary Shedlock and her husband Daniel, North Wilkes-Barre and Mrs. Jean Lewis, Wilkes-Barre; several nieces, nephews and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the Parish of Saint Andre Bessette, 668 North Main Street, Wilkes-Barre. The Reverend Kenneth M. Seegar, pastor, will serve as celebrant and homilist.
Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Saint Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Relatives and friends may join Andrew's family for visitation and shared remembrances directly at church from 10:15 a.m. until service time Thursday.
