Carole Snoke-Osborne Obituary

Mrs. Carole A. (Corcoran) Snoke-Osborne, 83, a resident of Highland Park Senior Living Center since 2020, passed into eternal life Sunday night while in the care of Allied Services Hospice inpatient unit Wilkes-Barre, following a recent illness.

Born on Sunday, December 11, 1938 in Lebanon County, she was one of four children and the only daughter to the late Raymond and Ruth (Hutchinson) Corcoran.  She was educated in the Lebanon area schools.

In her youth, Mrs. Osborne was employed as a pizza cook for the popular Progress Grill on Walnut Street in Harrisburg for several years.  She then worked as an orderly and several other capacities at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Hershey.  Later in life, she became a talented seamstress for JoAnn Fabrics in the Harrisburg area for several years until her formal retirement, often making hand-made creations for family and friends in her spare time.

In 2011, she relocated to the Wyoming Valley to be closer to her children, grandchildren and family.

Mrs. Osborne is remembered as being a hard worker who never complained, despite her own aches and pains in life.  She enjoyed reading mystery novels and listening to fifties-era music, especially Elvis Presley.  She enjoyed sharing humorous stories about the various jobs she held, making several friends along the way, including her dear friend Jeanie from Annville.  Besides being talented in garment making, she is well-known for her delicious gravy shared at many family gatherings.

Above all, she is remembered as being a loving, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother to her adorning family.  Her presence will be truly missed by all those she touched in this life.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Mr. James "Shorty" Snoke on January 14, 2005; by her second husband, Mr. Roy J. Osborne Sr. on October 16, 2013; by a great-granddaughter, Avianna and most recently by a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Debbie Snoke on January 9, 2019.

Left to cherish the memory they hold of their mother are her children, Debra Moravec and her husband Michael of Trucksville; James Snoke of Rawlings, VA; Diane Shayter and her husband Joseph of Steelton, PA; Darlene Staudenmeier and her husband Raymond of Wilkes-Barre; Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren;  Brothers, including Raymond "Cork" Corcoran and his wife Tabitha of Paola, KS; Luther "Lu" Corcoran of Tifton, GA; Dennis Scott Corcoran of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and dear friends.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to join Mrs. Osborne’ s family for visitation and shared remembrances Saturday from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. at the John V. Morris Family Funeral Home Inc., 625 North Main Street, Wilkes-Barre, where prayers of thanksgiving will be offered at 2:45 p.m.
