Mrs. Catherine H. “Cathy” (Wozniak) Bogusky, 60, a resident of Temperance, Michigan, formerly of Wilkes-Barre, fell asleep in the Lord Monday, June 28th in the comfort of her residence, with her beloved family at her bedside.
Born September 20, 1960 in Wilkes-Barre, she was the youngest daughter to the late John and Irene (Babuscak) Wozniak. Educated in the city schools, Catherine was a graduate of the Grand Army of the Republic Memorial High School, Wilkes-Barre, Class of 1978. She later furthered her education by attending the former Pittston Hospital School of Nursing.
On St. Valentine's Day, 1987; she married the love of her life, Mr. Dennis J. Bogusky, a North Wilkes-Barre native. The couple relocated to the mid-west, where she would gain employment as a registered nurse for the Saint Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, until her formal leave to raise her two daughters.
Devoted to her Byzantine Catholic faith, Catherine held membership in Saint Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church in Ohio where she actively participated as a bingo volunteer. While her daughters were young, she also volunteered at the Bedford Schools for many years.
Catherine is remembered as being a wonderful, loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt and nurse. Her outgoing personality will be greatly missed by all those she knew and touched in this life.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Mr. Richard Senchak.
Left to cherish the wonderful memories they hold of her in addition to her loving husband of 34 years, Dennis and the couple's daughters, Nicole and Cynthia Bogusky; are her siblings, including Mary Senchak of Harrisburg; John Wozniak and his wife Melanie of Florida; Ann Pellegrini and her husband Thomas; along with Michael Wozniak and his wife Karen, all of Plains Township; Numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Funeral services were conducted at Saint Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church in Ohio on Saturday with Liturgy at 10:00 a.m. Locally, relatives and friends are invited to join Catherine's family Wednesday morning for visitation and shared remembrances at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Assumption of Saint Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, 695 North Main Street, Wilkes-Barre. The Office of Christian Burial with Divine Liturgy will follow at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Michael Kerestes, pastor serving as celebrant and homilist.
Interment with the Rite of Committal will then take place in the parish cemetery, Lake Street, Dallas.
