Charlotte B. (Brody) Lyons

     Mrs. Charlotte B. (Brody) Lyons, 82, a resident of Kingston, passed into Eternal Life the evening of Wednesday, November 25 while in the care of Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center following a recent illness.

     Born August 21, 1938 in Wilkes-Barre, she was one of two daughters to the late Andrew and Anna (Zonko) Brody.  Being raised in the Georgetown neighborhood, she was a member of the 1956 graduating class of the former Wilkes-Barre Township High School.

     She began her formal career in banking at the former Northeastern National Bank, now PNC Bank, downtown Wilkes-Barre.  Her tenure with the bank span some forty-two years, earning the title of Assistant Vice President upon the time of her retirement on February 28, 1998.

     In her spare time, Mrs. Lyons could often be seen volunteering at the former Little Flower Manor in Wilkes-Barre, caring for the residents and making many friends along the way.

     She and her beloved husband, Mr. Michael C. Lyons recently celebrated fifty-nine years of married life together on September 16th.  The couple held membership in Our Lady of Fatima Parish at Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church, Wilkes-Barre, having previously been communicants at Saint John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, Wilkes-Barre Township.

     Above all, Mrs. Lyons is remembered as being a loving, devoted wife, sister and aunt to her adoring family.   Her presence will be greatly missed by all those she touched in this life.

     Left to cherish the memories they have of her in addition to her husband Michael at home, are her sister, Mrs. Andrea Anderson of Washington, D.C.; Numerous nieces and nephews including, Amy M. Anderson and Ann Basham Walker; great-niece and great-nephews; Lauren Walker, Devin S. Anderson and Austin Walker; fellow parishioners and dear friends.

     Due to the ongoing health crisis, funeral services for Mrs. Lyons will be held privately and at the convenience of her family.  Entombment with the Rite of Committal will be conducted in Saint Mary's Roman Catholic Cemetery, 1594 South Main Street, Hanover Township, with the Reverend J. Duane Gavitt, pastor, as celebrant.
