Dolores Condosta Obituary

Mrs. Dolores "Grandma Dee" Condosta, 92, a lifelong resident of West Pittston, passed peacefully into Eternal Life early Saturday morning while in the care of Kingston Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, following a recent illness.

Born August 12, 1929 in Exeter, she was the last surviving of ten children to the late Joseph and Mary Bolock.  She was educated in the Exeter schools.

A woman of spirituality, Mrs. Condosta was raised in the Catholic faith and would often read sacred scripture especially in her later years.

In her spare time, she loved tending to her many annual gardens she cultivated with care.  A wonderful cook and baker, she became well known for her Lithuanian cookies and mastering the traditional Italian ethnic foods especially for Christmas and Easter.  She also enjoyed the simple things in life, such as her loving pets, her homemade crafts and her extensive tea cup collection.  Dee especially enjoyed traveling with her late husband Jim; whether that be locally to Lake Carey, visiting relatives in Ohio or even to Europe.

Above all, Mrs. Condosta is remembered best for her love of family; who was the center of her life.  She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to those who knew and loved her.  Her presence will be greatly missed by all those she touched in this life.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mr. James F. Condosta on April 1, 1997.  At the time of his passing, the couple shared forty-eight years of married life together.  Also preceding her were an infant twin brother at birth;  Brothers and sisters; Theresa (Tessie), Mary, Anne, Marge, Josephine, Sonny, Bernard and Josie.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, ; Mrs. Rosemary Economopoulos and her husband Chris, with whom she resided; Mr. James Condosta and his wife Maureen of Exeter Grandchildren; Mary Theresa Condosta, Krisa Malecki and her husband Brad and Suzanne Economopoulos;  Sister-in-law, Mrs. Jean Seman of Penfield, Ohio; Numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces, great-great nephews and many dear friends.

Per her previous request, funeral services for Mrs. Condosta will be held privately and at the convenience of her family with no formal visitation.  Interment with the Rite of Committal will be in the family lot in Old Forge Cemetery.

In lieu of floral tributes, Dolores' family would be humbled if those wishing to send a monetary donation in her memory, kindly give consideration to the S.P.C.A. of Luzerne County, 524 East Main Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702; (www.spcaluzernecounty.org); Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105; (www.stjude.org); or to the Wounded Warrior Project, 370 7th Avenue, Suite #1802, New York, New York 10001; (www.woundedwarriorproject.org).
