Mrs. Dolores R. “Tootsie” (Fabian) Langdon, 94, formerly of North Franklin Street in the city's North End neighborhood, passed peacefully into eternal life early the morning of Friday, November 10th while in the care of Allied Services Hospice Center, Wilkes-Barre with her family at her bedside.
Born on Thursday, March 14, 1929 in Plains, she was the only child to the late Peter and Stella (Mierzwa) Fabian.
Educated in the local schools, she attended the former James M. Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre.
In her youth, she and her late husband Edward enjoyed playing cards with other couples in the neighborhood.
Devoted to her Catholic faith, Mrs. Langdon was a member of Saints Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Parish, Plains Township.
Above all, Dolores is best remembered as being a loving, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Family was the focal point of her life, and she cherished every moment spent caring and raising several generations of children.
She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Mr. Edward T. Hrencecin on January 25, 2010, and more recently by her beloved husband, Mr. Edward R. Langdon on October 10, 2017. At the time of Mr. Langdon’s passing, the couple shared seventy-three years of married life together.
Left to cherish the memory they keep of their mother are her daughter, Sandy L. Hrencecin of Plains; Sons, Edward F. (Bud) Langdon and his wife Pamela of Shavertown; Dr. Richard N. Langdon and his wife Mary of Bear Creek and Glenn P. Langdon and his wife Lorrie of Liverpool, New York. She will be greatly missed by her ten adoring grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Langdon will be conducted on Tuesday, November 14th at 10:00 a.m. with her funeral mass in Saints Peter and Paul Parish, 13 Hudson Road, Plains Township. The Reverend John C. Lambert, pastor, will serve as celebrant and homilist.
Entombment with the Rite of Committal will immediately follow in Mount Olivet Diocesan Cemetery, Wyoming section of Kingston Township.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to join the Langdon family for visitation and shared remembrances directly at church Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of her funeral mass.
