Florence T. (Stefonetti) Chalk

     Mrs. Florence T. (Stefonetti) Chalk, 88, a resident of Mountain Top, formerly of Wilkes-Barre, passed peacefully into Eternal Life in the comfort of her residence shortly after midnight Thursday with her beloved family at her bedside.

     Born August 2, 1932 in Wilkes-Barre, she was one of ten children to the late Michael and Rachael (Ferro) Stefonetti.  She was educated in the Wilkes-Barre schools.

     Devoted to her Catholic faith, Mrs. Chalk was a member of Saint Jude Parish, Mountain Top and previously held membership in the former Saint John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, North Wilkes-Barre.

     A kind a loving woman, Mrs. Chalk is best remembered as being a wonderful, devoted wife, mother and grandmother to her adoring family.  Her presence will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her in this life.

     She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Anthony J. Chalk Jr. on February 19, 1983.  At the time of Mr. Chalk's passing, the couple shared sixteen years of married life together.  Also preceding her were sisters, Mrs. Mary Laury, Mrs. Susan Holcomb, Mrs. Caroline Micikas; and by brothers, Sam, Charles, Joseph, Anthony and Michael Stefonetti.

     Left to cherish the memories they hold of her are her children Joseph F. Chalk and his wife Dawn Marie of Mountain Top, and Caroline R. Chalk, with whom Mrs. Chalk resided;  Grandsons, Corey and Cameron Chalk; a sister, Mrs. Catherine Shofner of Palatka, FL; several nieces, nephews, fellow parishioners and dear friends.

     Due to restrictions from the current health crisis, funeral services for Mrs. Chalk were held privately and at the convenience of her family with her funeral Mass in Saint Jude Parish.  Interment was next to her husband in Saint Mary's Roman Catholic Cemetery, 1594 South Main Street, Hanover Township.
