After she lovingly raised her own family, Mrs. Kozich did not sit idle. She continued to care for neighborhood children by taking seasonal employment as a school crossing guard in Miners Mills for the Wilkes-Barre Area School District. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mr. Joseph N. Kozich Sr. on March 26, 2003. At the time of Mr. Kozich's passing, the couple shared fifty-one years of married life together. Also preceding her were brothers; Joseph, Bernard, Stanley and Robert Mros; and most recently her only sister, Mrs. Jean E. "Queenie" Griffith on May 9, 2017.
Left to cherish the wonderful memories they hold of her are her sons, Jerry S. Kozich and his wife JoAnn of Forty-Fort, who served as Josephine’s caregivers; Joseph N. "Skip" Kozich Jr. and his wife Nancy, also of Forty-Fort and James Kozich of California; Grandchildren, including Joshua, Jessica, Jared Jeremy and Ryan Kozich; Brother, Eugene Mros of Hanover Township; Numerous nieces, nephews, fellow parishioners and dear friends.
