Maryann Krajnik Obituary

     Ms. Maryann T. (Ceklosky) Krajnik, 81, formerly of North Wilkes-Barre; a resident of King of Prussia, passed into Eternal Life early the morning of Wednesday, May 4th while in the care of ProMedica Nursing Center, King of Prussia, following a recent illness.

     Born on Tuesday, July 16, 1940 in Wilkes-Barre, she was one of nine children to the late Michael and Justine (Iskra) Ceklosky.  Educated in the city schools, Ms. Krajnik was a 1954 graduate of the Sacred Heart Slovak Parochial School and a 1958 graduate of the James M. Coughlin High School, both formerly of Wilkes-Barre. 

     Following her relocation to Norristown, she furthered her education by becoming a 1959 graduate of the former Sacred Heart Hospital School of Nursing.  Her professional career began as a nurse at Sacred Heart, and later serving in the medical records department.  After the hospital's closure, she found employment as a medical disability claims specialist for several years.

     Later in life, she continued enriching her education by attaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science with a concentration in Health Information Science from Gwynedd-Mercy College in Gwynedd Valley.

     Devoted to her Catholic faith, Ms. Krajnik also performed secretarial duties at Our Mother of Sorrows and Saint Augustine Roman Catholic Parishes in the Bridgeport area prior to their cessations. She then became a member of Sacred Heart Parish in Swedesburg.

     Socially, Ms. Krajnik held membership in the Upper Marion Senior Citizens.

     She was preceded in death by sisters; Bernadine Stefanovich, Florence Sierko and most recently by Barbara Jean Ceklosky; by brothers; Leonard F. Ceklosky, Michael Ceklosky and by an infant niece, Carol Ann Ceklosky.

     She will be remembered and dearly missed by her brothers, Francis Ceklosky and his wife Theresa of Hudson; Joseph F. Ceklosky and his wife Loretta of Dallas and John S. Ceklosky, with whom she previously resided in King of Prussia; Her former spouse, George P. Krajnik of Bridgeport; Several nieces, nephews and dear friends.

     Funeral services for Ms. Krajnik will be conducted on Monday at 10:30 a.m. from the John V. Morris Family Funeral Home Inc., 625 North Main Street, Wilkes-Barre, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. in the Parish of Saint Andre Bessette, 668 North Main Street, Wilkes-Barre.  The Reverend James E. McGahagan will serve as celebrant and homilist.

     Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow at the Ceklosky family lot in Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Cemetery of Saint Andre Bessette Parish, Dorchester Drive, Dallas.

     Relatives and friends are invited to join Ms. Krajnik's family for visitation and shared remembrances from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.

     In lieu of floral tributes, Maryann’s family would greatly appreciate memorial donations in their sisters’ memory to the Sisters of Saints Cyril and Methodius motherhouse; Villa Sacred Heart, 1002 Railroad Street, Danville, PA 17821.
