Mr. Robert John Hromisin, 74, a resident of Jenkins Township, passed into Eternal Life early Sunday, Oct. 24, 2021, while in the care of River Run Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Kingston following complications from a recent surgery.
Born Saturday, February 15, 1947 in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late John and Margaret (Krehel) Hromisin. Educated in the city schools, Robert graduated from Coughlin High School, Class of 1965. He then went on to serve his country with the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam War, being stationed in Germany.
Bob began his career with the Department of Health and Human Services, Social Security Administration offices in Wilkes-Barre. Later, he took employment as a supervisor with the United States Postal Service, Wilkes-Barre office for some 30 years. Following his formal retirement, Bob did not sit idly. He previously worked at the former Sunshine Market in Plains Township. More recently, he worked specifically in the produce department of Wegmans supermarket in Wilkes-Barre Township, where he garnered many friendships over the years. He truly loved the socialization he shared with the various shoppers.
In his spare time, Robert was an avid sports fan. He was a lifelong fan of the New York Jets and Notre Dame football teams. He truly loved life, looking forward to many family gatherings, holidays and trips to Knoebels. He enjoyed going to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins Hockey Games. (His favorite past time was going out to eat)! He had the gift of gab and could strike up a conversation and make friends with anyone. He will be missed beyond words by all those he touched in this life.
Robert was preceded in death by his first wife, Theresa (Milko) Hromisin on May 19, 1990.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Lynn (Savidge) Hromisin, at home; His children, Denise Hromisin and her companion, Ken Wall of Swoyersville; Mark Hromisin and his wife, April of Hanover Township; and Annmarie Hromisin of Pittston; His aunt, Helen Krehel, North Carolina; cousin, Cathy Williams and her husband Harvey of New York.
A blessing service was held at 7 p.m. Friday, October 29th from the John V. Morris Family Funeral Home Inc., 625 North Main Street, Wilkes-Barre. The Reverend Peter Tomczak, pastor of Saint Monica's Parish, West Wyoming, served as celebrant and leader of worship.
Interment will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.
